PROMEO engineering students connect with Australian industry leaders in Brisbane

Sixty-two engineering students from PROMEO Formation in Beauvais, France, recently had the opportunity to connect directly with Australian industry professionals during a networking event hosted on 16 September 2026 at the James Cook University (JCU) Brisbane campus.

As part of their Australian study experience, the event provided students with a valuable platform to meet professionals, expand their industry knowledge, and explore potential career opportunities within the Australian market. The networking evening also enabled students to practise their English communication skills in a professional setting while building relationships with industry representatives.

Professionals from a diverse range of organisations attended, including the Sarina Russo Group, James Cook University Brisbane, Australian Internships, Arrow Energy, Phibion, UniLodge, and the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FACCI).

The event formed an important part of the students’ study visit to Australia, creating meaningful connections between PROMEO Beauvais engineering students and Australian industry professionals. It offered students firsthand exposure to local industries, workplace expectations, and potential career opportunities while fostering international collaboration and cultural exchange.

Students heard inspiring presentations from Sarina Russo Group CEO Kathleen Newcombe, RTO Director Jane Roberts, CEO of Education Michael Pennisi,  and FACCI representatives, who shared their professional journeys and offered practical advice on building successful careers in an increasingly global workforce.

The evening concluded with a moving performance of La Marseillaise by the PROMEO students, celebrating their French heritage while marking the successful conclusion of a memorable networking experience.

The event demonstrated the importance of international partnerships and industry engagement in helping students develop the confidence, knowledge and professional networks needed to succeed in their future careers.
