Certificate III Guarantee


The Certificate III Guarantee program is a Queensland Government initiative that offers a government subsidy to support eligible individuals to complete their first post-school Certificate III qualification.

The principal objective of the Certificate III Guarantee is the delivery and completion of Certificate III qualifications, which lead to job outcomes or career progression.

This is a Queensland government funded program.

Courses available under the Certificate III Guarantee program

Am I eligible?

To be eligible for the Certificate III Guarantee Program a participant must:

  • be 15 years of age or older.
  • no longer be at school.
  • be a Queensland Resident i.e. Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident residing in Queensland or a New Zealand citizen permanently residing in Queensland. (proof will be required)
  • not hold, or currently be undertaking a Certificate III or higher qualification, not including qualifications completed at school and foundations skills training

A participant can be unemployed and seeking work, or working on a full-time, part-time or casual basis.

Acceptance is subject to eligibility criteria and availability.

How much will I pay?

If you have met the eligibility criteria then you are able to apply. The fee you pay will vary depending on what category you fall into.
Concessional: $50
Non-concessional: $160

Student Co-Contribution Fees apply to all students partaking in the Certificate 3 Guarantee Program.

Concessional Participants are defined as follows:
(a) the Participant holds a Health Care concession card or Pensioner concession card issued under Commonwealth law, or is the partner or a dependant of a person who holds a Health Care concession card or Pensioner concession card, and is named on the card; or

(b) the Participant can provide an official form under Commonwealth law confirming that the Participant, his or her partner or the person of whom the Participant is a dependant, is entitled to concessions under a Health Care or Pensioner concession card; or

(c) the Participant is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person.

Student Survey Requirement

You are required to complete a short Training and Employment Survey within three months of completing or discontinuing your course.

Delivery Mode

  • Aged Care is undertaken in a classroom environment
  • All other qualifications are offered as an online courses over 5 months (dependant on student’s skills and knowledge)

Eligibility for further subsidised training

Participants will no longer be eligible for further subsidised training under this Program once they complete their Certificate III Qualification.

  • Opportunities to collaborate online with fellow peers

Other Information

  • The student co-contribution fee is charged and collected prior to enrolment. Fees can be paid by credit card or direct deposit.
  • Participants will be required to complete a Training and Employment Survey within three of completing or discontinuing the course.
  • Participants will no longer be eligible for further subsidised training under the Program once they complete the Certificate III Qualification
